How do PDO Threads work?
Our Medical Team starts by applying a numbing cream to the treatment area to ensure client comfort. The threads are then precisely and gently placed under the skin using a cannula, into the sub dermal level.
After the threads are in place, they are gently pulled back to tighten sagging areas.
The threads work to activate collagen synthesis, which produces a gradual skin thickening, skin tightening and rejuvenation effect. They work by becoming a support structure for your skin, allowing natural collagen production to take place.
The thread material is made from PDO (polydioxanone), the same material used in surgery to close wounds and will gradually dissolve over time stimulating collagen and elastin production to achieve a complete anti-aging effect – tighter, firmer, youthful, and overall rejuvenated skin.

PDO Tightening Threads come in two different textures, Mono and Double Screw:
Mono Threads – The Mono threads are a type of single PDO filament.
These threads are smooth and versatile, as they can be safely placed in most areas of the face and body.Screw Threads – The Screw Threads have 1-2 intertwined threads, which provide double the volumising effect of a single mono thread. These threads are perfect for treating sunken or sagging areas that require more volume and lift.
- +What happens during the PDO Thread Treatment?
Topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area or a very small amount of Local anaesthetic is injected into the skin with a very fine needle to numb the area.
The PDO Threads are inserted using a micro-needle or a cannula. There is no incision and subsequently, no stitches required.
Treatments sessions typically take between 30 to 60 minutes. The procedure must also be provided by a medical professional who has been fully trained.
